Face of the Day!

I'm sorry for neglecting this blog. Man, I kind of suck, lol!

Oh well. I've decided that in the times I don't have new products to review, I'll just post FOTDs if I do makeup. =]

This is actually from yesterday (11-13-10).

Without glasses.

Face:
L'oreal Studio Secrets gel primer

Pink Gyaru look + EPIC EYELASH FAIL.

I love the gyaru look. I won't lie. I like that it's gaudy and loud and... stuff. I love the hair, the clothes, the attitude, and the makeup, OH MY GOSH THE MAKEUP EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
But alas, I couldn't quite accomplish it, for even the most lengthening and most volumising mascara will never give my puny, sparse lashes the density and volume they need to be fully ギャル.
So I was sort of a fake-gyaru for a while.

THIS CHANGED TODAY! I was at Walmart and spotted those cheap little eyelash sets. I probably shouldn't have gone for the cheapest one. But they called to me.
'Catherineeeee, we'll give you visible lashes for the first time in your liiiiife! Buy us! BUY US!'

So I did.

:D

!!! RANT TIME !!!

I hate these false eyelashes! SUCH CRAP! I've never used lashes but these felt weird. Awkward and stiff and they did not want to stay on at all!
UGGGGGGH!!!

I seriously sat there for like half an hour battling these eyelashes. I finally got them to stay. Kind of. It was a battle most epic.

So you have to excuse the epic eyelash failure. GRRRRAWR.

!!! RANT TIME OVER !!!

Now onto the look! *flails arms*

I didn't want to do the 'traditional' beige + crease look, so I did a pearly pink eyeshadow look with lots of eyeliner and big (for me) lashes and light pink lips. ^_^

Full face.

Eyes. Sorry. I have a durpy expression half the time.
lash fail exhibit A!

Open eye.

THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT FALSE EYELASHES!

Lips! Viva Glam Gaga + Pinkarat lipglass. I like how dry my lips are. Whassup. :/

And this is without my handy-dandy 'fringe keeper'. It's shaped like a pink bow. It's really cute.

Products I used:

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
this taiwanese pearly white eyeshadow stick thing as a base all over eyelids
Urban Decay SWF eyeshadow
Too Faced Neutral eyeshadow palette (I used the champagne colour)
Some random light pink from my old Coastal Scents 88 matte palette
cheap 'salon secrets' eyelashes and included glue (lol)
Wet n' Wild defineyes eyeliner thing. It's felt tip.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (bottom lids, blended (poorly) with the eyeshadow stick thing from before)
L'oreal Telescopic Mascara

Face:
L'oreal Gel Primer
MUFE HD Foundation
powder?

Lips:
Softlips!
MAC Viva Glam Gaga
MAC Pinkarat Lipglass

When I list it out it looks like a lot. :c

Random neutral FOTD

Hey! I'm finally posting pictures of my actual makeup. Sweet.

Lookie, lookie! It is I.

What I used on the eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Random brown shadows from the 88 matte palette. (Darkest brown, lightest brown, and uh... the one on the second row from the right on the bottom. I used the darkest brown lightly on the bottom lashline and in the outer corner of my eyes)
Almay brown eyeliner on the waterline and upper lid
Too Faced Cocoa Puff eyeshadow on the upper lid over the eyeliner. Heaven eyeshadow is the highlight!
L'oreal Telescopic mascara

And here are the lips!

I used Too Faced Marcia Marcia Marcia lipstick and Stila's Mauvelous lip glaze. Hehe. Mauvelous.
I kind of don't like how Mauvelous smells. I was at Shopko and found these Paula Deen candles and I was like "Oh cool, Paula Deen candles" and sniffed like, a 'sugar cookie' one and it was awful. It smelled like burned sugar. That's what Mauvelous smells like. A PAULA DEEN CANDLE FROM SHOPKO.

I used MUFE HD Foundation in 110 on my face. I love that foundation. ^_^

thanks for reading~! <3 Hope you liked it.

REVIEW: Benefit Some Kind-A Gorgeous

Instead of doing something useful I'm reviewing a product for you (:

unfortunately, I kind of hated this product =/ It's pretty rare I flatout HATE a product. This one managed to accomplish all the things I really don't like about a product.

So, without further ramblings, here's my review on Benefit's Some Kind-a Gorgeous!

-

The product itself is really pretty. I like the design xD

This is the front. It's pretty nice and looks huge in my tiny hand. xD

The actual product and nifty mirror. (Sup, my arm and shirt?) If you look closely, you can see that there's... gross... stuff on the product.
Oh yeah, it is kind of gross to me to use a compact foundation just because of that. Ew. Seriously.

The coverage was pretty poor, but that isn't the product's shortcomings. It's supposed to be sheer. But, I mean... I don't have really bad skin, although it does have its flaws. But this covered up absolutely nothing!

So all in all, this... is not a great product, unfortunately. It'd probably be okay if you had absolutely flawless skin and just wanted... something on your face...?

Epic fail, Benefit D:

REVIEW! - Too Faced Natural Eye Palette~

Hi guys! c: So a whole week after I said I would post a review, I'm FINALLY doing it! Haha. I'm a goof.

This review will be for the Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Palette, obviously. I've had this palette for a while, so I've had ample time to test it out xD

This palette is available from Sephora or Too Faced's website and retails for $34 - which only sounds pricey, since you get nine eyeshadows~! The palette comes with nine eyeshadows, one dual-ended sponge-tip applicator/funky brush thingy brush (which is useless) and three look cards, which are incredibly helpful for those who are new to makeup! The three look cards are for each of the rows - Day, Classic, and Fashion. I didn't really use them though, since I'm a REBEL.

The nine shadows included are the following:

Heaven - a light, matte ivory and really nice for a pretty all-over wash of colour or a highlight.
Velvet Revolver - A matte taupe. It's a bit grayish to me, but that isn't bad.
Sexpresso - A matte dark brown. It's prettyyyy.

Silk Teddy - Shimmery pinkish-champagne. It's also really pretty, could be used as a
more amped-up all-over colour!
Push-Up - ... I dunno how to describe this. It's sort of burgundy and sort of coppery. And shimmery. Even though I suck at describing this, it's also lovely.
Erotica - Cool brown, shimmery colour.

Nude Beach - Glittery. Champagne-y. GLITTERY. Very sheer. VERY GLITTERY. That is all. Normally, I love glitter, but this falls out like woah and has zero payoff. Blech. I don't like it.
Honey Pot - It's the colour of shimmery honey! :D Very nice. I have to build the colour up on my lids, but it's still pretty.
Cocoa Puff - This is my second-favourite colour. Deep brown, just a bit lighter than Sexpresso... WITH GLITTER. AHHHH. I love it. xD

The quality of the eyeshadows is outstanding. c: Easy to blend, very pigmented (except for freaking Nude Beach... rawr) and all in all, very nice. I use this palette pretty much every day, whether it's a full look or just using Heaven all over the lid. I would definitely recommend this palette.

I don't have pictures right now, since... I fail and my camera deleted them...
But I will update this post with pictures as soon as I can! <3

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this.

I'll try to get my first couple reviews up tomorrow! I will review products pretty much EVERYONE has reviewed before - Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick, the Kat Von D brush set, and my Too Faced Natural Eye Shadow Palette. (:
